In an effort to bolster economic ties, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, the First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber, recently engaged in discussions with Nguyen Huy Hiep, Vietnam’s Ambassador to Qatar. The meeting took place at the chamber’s headquarters in Lusail, with both parties focusing on enhancing economic and trade relations between Qatar and Vietnam.
The dialogue centered on fostering collaboration between private sector companies from the two nations, delving into new investment avenues, and pinpointing key sectors ripe for future partnerships. Al Kuwari expressed Qatar Chamber’s commitment to nurturing stronger alliances and joint ventures with Vietnamese businesses, commending Vietnam’s robust economic performance.
Ambassador Hiep emphasized Vietnam’s eagerness to expand economic cooperation with Qatar, highlighting that bilateral trade surpassed $860 million in 2024, a $100 million increase from the previous year. He urged Qatari investors to consider opportunities in Vietnam, particularly in agriculture, food processing, and halal products, while acknowledging the pivotal role Qatar Chamber plays in introducing Vietnamese goods to the Qatari market.
Furthermore, the ambassador extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber and Qatari business figures to attend the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026, slated to occur in Ho Chi Minh City next September. This annual event serves as a significant global trade platform, focusing on sourcing, exports, and supply chain collaboration, and draws participation from international companies and industry leaders across sectors such as food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics.
