The event, commemorating Vietnam’s 81st National Day, underscored the deepening cooperation and shared commitments toward peace and international cooperation between the two nations.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar Nguyen Huy Hiep took the opportunity to highlight the progress in Vietnam’s development and its expanding international relations, particularly with Qatar. The gathering attracted senior Qatari officials, diplomats, and business leaders, reflecting the significance of these bilateral ties.
Since establishing diplomatic relations in 1993, Vietnam and Qatar have broadened their cooperation across various sectors. Key areas of collaboration include trade, investment, energy, labor, aviation, agriculture, healthcare, hospitality, and telecommunications. This multifaceted engagement has seen economic connections flourish, with bilateral trade reaching approximately $423 million in 2025, a testament to the growing business opportunities and investments between the two countries.
The relationship has been further bolstered by high-level exchanges, including the visit of Qatar’s Prime Minister to Vietnam in October 2024. Both nations continue to express a keen interest in enhancing their economic partnerships and exploring new avenues for cooperation. These developments not only highlight the strong ties between Vietnam and Qatar but also set a robust foundation for future collaborations.
