In a series of diplomatic engagements, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, reached out to key figures in Lebanon and Mali to discuss pressing issues and bilateral relations. Through separate phone conversations, Al Khulaifi engaged with Lebanese Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Tarek Mitri and Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop, focusing on regional developments and cooperation.
During his conversation with Dr. Tarek Mitri, Al Khulaifi expressed deep concern over the situation in Lebanon, particularly the ongoing Israeli military actions. He condemned the attacks on Lebanese soil and highlighted how these operations pose a threat to civilians and escalate tensions in the region. Al Khulaifi emphasized that these actions violate Lebanon’s sovereignty and international law, calling for a swift cessation of hostilities and adherence to existing ceasefire agreements, notably UN Security Council Resolution 1701. He urged the international community to take firm measures to prevent further violations and safeguard Lebanon’s territorial integrity.
Reaffirming Qatar’s steadfast support, Al Khulaifi assured that Qatar stands with Lebanon and its people amid the current crisis. His remarks underline Qatar’s commitment to contributing positively to regional stability and supporting its allies in times of need.
In a separate dialogue with Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop, Al Khulaifi turned his attention to the African Sahel region. Discussions centered on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Qatar and Mali. Al Khulaifi conveyed Qatar’s solidarity with Mali, emphasizing support for the country’s initiatives aimed at ensuring security, stability, and the welfare of its citizens.
These diplomatic conversations underscore Qatar’s active role in addressing regional challenges and fostering international alliances, reflecting its foreign policy priorities and commitment to maintaining peace and stability in both the Middle East and Africa.
